2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV | Pre-Order Now

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is hitting the streets later this year and it has some key upgrades. The SUV still has the same distinctive styling as the Outlanders that came before it. It looks sportier with an exclusive two-tone roof, wider wheel hubs, and 20mm forged aluminum alloys. The tailgate displays the distinctive PHEV badge.

Comfort and Styling

Mitsubishi designed the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV as a hybrid family SUV, and it comes standard with a third row of seats. The interior design is top class, with wider leather trim on the dashboard and elbow rests. The seats are covered in thick, soft leather, with beautiful diamond stitching. The interior is the best design and layout of all the Outlanders yet, setting it apart from its more expensive German counterparts.

The controls are well-positioned to make for a comfortable driving experience. The instrument panel has a big analog screen, with all the required information (speed, battery, fuel usage, etc.) displayed clearly. The infotainment touchscreen is centered and can connect to your Apple or Android device via Bluetooth.

More Powerful

The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with two electric motors -- one driving the front wheels and another driving the back wheels! Although Mitsubishi hasn’t yet supplied actual figures, the word is that the motors will generate up to 40% more power. Assuming that Mitsubishi keeps the current 2.4L four-cylinder engine, this increased power will push the 2023 PHEV to 259hp, which is more compatible for this size SUV. Also, Mitsubishi has increased the battery capacity to 20kWh, which calculates to an electric-only driving distance of 54 miles per charge.

Advanced Technology

Staying on top of technological advances is a must for any car manufacturer. The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV comes with all the standard safety functions that we appreciate, like ABS and traction control. Plus, Mitsubishi has developed some amazing new systems to make your journey even safer:

  • Active Yaw Control steers more power to the front wheels or the back wheels as required, increasing traction and handling.
  • Booster Function sends more power to the front motor when needed.
  • Lift Throttle Deceleration allows the car to start braking as you lift your foot off the gas pedal. This way, you can drive with just one pedal, using the brake pedal only when you need to brake hard.
  • There are seven Drive Modes to select from so the engine can adapt to any surface and weather condition with the press of a button.

It’s good to see that Mitsubishi is spending more time designing luxurious interiors. The 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is absolutely beautiful inside and out. With the additional power and all-electric driving distance, it can compete with any other hybrid vehicle out there.
