Introducing the Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer
Posted on June 29, 2020
The Mitsubishi Engelberg Tourer is Mitsubishi's newest concept SUV. This innovative SUV comes equipped with a plethora of special features that will revolutionize the way people view a plug-in hybrid SUV. Mitsubishi's other PHEV vehicle, the Outlander, was an instant hit in several countries. One of the things that made the outlander so popular was its twin PHEV motors that delivered lightning-fast power to the vehicle's wheels.
This year, Mitsubishi has decided to use the same 2.4-litre gasoline engine that is found in the Outlander and combine two electric motors that are placed on the rear and front axels to create a unique and powerful 4-wheel drive system. The two electric motors work together to create a responsive 4WD system that delivers an amount of power that you can instantly feel will you hit the accelerator. This system also helps the driver to remain in control of the vehicle when driving over slippery and rough terrain.
The Engelberg Tourer's groundbreaking PHEV motor has an impressively long range, which means that you can go on long road trips without worrying about stopping off at the pumps frequently. Currently, the all-electric motor is suspected of being able to travel up to 70 kilometres on a single charge. When you combine that with the powerful gas engine, this concept SUV can travel an impressive 700 kilometres without ever having to stop and fill up.
The Engelberg Tourer will come standard with a large colour touchscreen infotainment system that will feature several user-friendly apps, including a state-of-the-art navigation system. The rest of the interior exudes a level of luxury that is not found on most SUVs. The seats are wrapped in soft upholstery and there is plenty of legroom and headspace for all occupants to comfortably sit in the vehicle for a long period of time without feeling cramped or fatigued.
Not only is the interior impressive, but the exterior features a futuristic style that demands attention. The body is outlined in bold lines and well-defined curves. And the aggressive-looking front fascia features a large grille and two bright LED headlights. The large wheels and large rear bumper help to add a whole new level of style.
Mitsubishi has not yet announced when the Engelberg Tourer will be available in Canada. However, because of its wide range of special features and its already popular PHEV motor system, you can be sure that this vehicle will be just as popular as the iconic Outlander is.
